**UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Brenda is the winner of the Arena Flowers Mum of the Year competition**

Happy Mother’s Day.

We have had many wonderful entries for the 2010 Arena Flowers Mum of the Year competition.  We’d like to thank everyone who nominated their Mum or Mums they know – there were some very inspiring stories.  Mother’s Day is a lovely time of the year and it’s wonderful to celebrate Mums and guardians everywhere.

We have narrowed down the nominations to 15 finalists (no easy task considering the fantastic entries):

Adele
Adele has been nominated by Jane, who wants to thank Adele for being a source of strength through trying times, and for treating Jane and her partner so well.

Ann
Matthew nominated Ann as a show of appreciation to her for being a great mum to him and his brother through their naughtier times when they were young.

---

Brenda
Brenda has been nominated by Lisa for her strength through family troubles.  Lisa describes Brenda as a “natural angel” and “one in a million”.

---

Christine
Sue has nominated Christine because she is “Supermum!”.  She recently gave birth to a little girl and also looks after Sue’s nephew.  Sue thinks Christine deserves some pampering.

Jane
Jane is nominated by Sarah.  Jane is not only a wonderful mother to her 3 children but also as a teaching assistant, looks after an additional 30 children.

Margaret
Pat has nominated Margaret as she is a grandmother to 12 grandchildren.  Pat is amazed how much love and support Margaret has to offer equally to everyone.

Margaret M
Margaret M was nominated by Kelly.  Kelly is proud of her mum who has recently found inner confidence, strength and beauty despite some difficult times.

Marion
Jacqueline has nominated Marion for being a great ‘replacement’ mum (Jacqueline’s own mum lives in Cyprus). Marion cares full time for her own mum but always has time for others.

---

Rachel
Emily has nominated Rachel to win. Since Emily has moved to France, she misses her mum and realises how much her mum does for her.

---

Sara
Sara was nominated by Miri. Miri thinks Sara is an inspiration having gone through troubling times with no loss of positive attitude.

---

Sarah
Molly nominated Sarah for always laughing and smiling and being supportive. Sarah is always upbeat (and a little “bonkers”). Molly says that Sarah is the kindest person in the world and Molly’s best friend.

Sue
Wendy nominates Sue because Sue is always ready for a laugh and is a bit of a tech genius! Wendy describes Sue as her Mum of the Year every year.

Susan
Amy has nominated Susan.  Susan has been there for Amy through some of the hardest times of her life – and the best.

---

Sylvie
Florence has nominated her sister Sylvie.  She’s a great mum and valued member of her local community. Sylvie is not only there for her kids, but for all who need her.

---

Tina
Jon nominated Tina for being very strong during some stressful times. Tina is always smiling and happy – as long as her children are.

---

These are fifteen of many very inspiring entries – they were a pleasure for us to read through however, there can only be one winner of the Arena Flowers Mum of the Year award (although all the nominees are deserving), so please get voting below. The polls close on Friday 12th at 17:00.
