PROTEA

Pronounced PRO-tee-a. 300 million-year-old fossils indicate that Protea are one of the most ancient plants in the world. The name "Protea" is derived from the mythological Greek Sea God, "Proteus," who had the power to spontaneously change his shape. Appropriately named, there are over 1,500 types of Protea, originating from Australia, Southern Africa and South America. Protea thrive in the windy weather. The majority of Protea grow on the southern- facing slopes. Here, they are exposed to the cool, southeastern winds from the sea. Protea flowers are known for their long-lasting beauty. They last 10-14 days fresh, then dry to soft, muted tones that often last for several years.

The flower is surrounded by colourful bracts which slowly open up to give a flower head as big as 25cm across. It comes in pinks, creams, oranges, charcoal, and are available all year round. Leaves will often blacken so the flowers may be sold with them already removed. The flowerheads are suitable for drying.

Associated with the star sign Aquarius.

Thank you so much. The flowers are for the lady who is like a mother to me on her 80th birthday, so this means a lot for us. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. How very nice of you to treat us like a friend, not just a customer!

I would just like to say I am very impressed with the service, I had a text and a e mail to confirm the flowers had been delivered.

I don’t know any other Company who does this.

I would definitely use you again.
