THE CAMELLIA FLOWER
The ‘Camellia’ says, “You’re a flame in my heart”. However, in strict scientific language, the flower got its name from the 17th century botanist Joseph Kamel (Latinised ‘Camellus’), who was a Moravian Jesuit who collected plants in the Philippines Island. The red camellia does symbolise excellence. By definition, camellia is a genus of the evergreen shrubs closely akin to tea, grown for the beauty of their flowers. In fact, the white flower is an emblem of perfect loveliness, a way to say, “You are adorable”. The pink shade of this flower expresses a longing for one’s beloved. Among the numerous varieties and shades of beautiful flowers the camellia stands apart as a symbol of gratitude and perfection.
