Lengthen the Life of Your Arrangement
A little extra care can make a big difference for any size flower arrangement or fresh flower bouquet. Most floral arrangements last 4-7 days or longer, depending on the flowers used and the care they receive, if tended to. Here are the three top tips for looking after your flowers:
Water
Keep the vase filled (or floral foam soaked) with water containing the flower food we gave you. Flower foods make flowers last longer but it is important to follow the mixing directions on the flower food packet. Most packets are to be mixed with c a pint of water. Flower foods should not be diluted with more water than is specified on the packet.
Food
If the flower food solution becomes cloudy, replace it entirely with properly mixed flower food solution. If possible, re-cut stems by removing one to two inches with a sharp knife. Be sure to use a sharp knife or clippers that will not crush the stems. Immediately place the stems into solution. Be careful not to cut yourself!
Temperature
Keep flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, directly under ceiling fans, or on top of televisions or radiators. Appliances like televisions give off heat, which causes flowers to dehydrate. Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.

Bright yellow daffodils are always a favourite flower with their merry nodding heads and come in a wide range of varieties. They really are the harbingers of warmer spring weather and, as such, bring a smile to one's face. If you have a green fingered friend, why not send them this pretty basket with 3 different types of daffodil bulbs and a packet of soil mix for them to plant themselves?
In October or November, fill the basket half-full with the soil and then plant the bulbs, pointed side up, close together but without letting them touch. Add the rest of the soil so the bulbs are covered and then water thoroughly and put in a cool dark place for about 12 weeks checking that the soil is kept moist. When the foliage and buds are start to develop, gradually move the basket to a bright windowsill and await the arrival of your daffodil flowers and Spring!
Please note that the watering can is not included with the bulb basket and the daffodil type may vary depending on availability.
