FAQs about romantic flowers

What flowers are best for a romantic bouquet?
This entirely depends on the person you're buying them for, but throughout the world the most popular has to be the rose. Globally, just over 80 million roses are sold for Valentine's Day alone! Not only that, but the trend is only going up - sales went up by nearly 10% from 2020 to 2021. We sure do love them!
Why are roses the flower of love?
Roses being a symbol goes back all the way to the Roman times. It's believed flowers were placed in bedrooms as symbol of the love and beauty of the goddess Venus.

Using flowers as a form of language was really popularised in the Victorian era, where the colours each took on their own, more specific meanings. For example, while red roses are associated with desire and passion, the orange-coloured flowers mean enthusiasm and wonder.
What other flowers mean love?
If roses aren't your sweetheart's thing there are plenty of other flowers to choose from that have the same, or similar meanings.

You could get a bouquet with lilies like our Pink Perfection, or the flowers in our Luxury Peonies are known as symbols of romance and lasting beauty.
