What do Chrysanthemums symbolise?

Chrysanthemums have a lot of happy symbolism, including abundance, loveliness, cheerfulness, fidelity, happiness and optimism. If you're looking for a bouquet to mean wealth, then something with chrysanths in it is an ideal choice. There are colours that also hold specific meanings: red for 'I love you' and white for truth.

What are the different types of Chrysanthemum?

The chrysanthemum comes in a huge array of sizes, flower head numbers, petal shapes and colours, meaning there are thousands of varieties. Luckily, they're quite easy to spot as they look a lot like daisies - which is a cousin of theirs in the Asteraceae family. The centre disc of the flower is often a different colour, much like the daisy, but there are some varieties that have short petals that hide it. Their petals can also be long and spray out from the centre like a daisy, or they can also be densely packed around the centre, curled up like Dahlia petals. A variety called the spider mum has tubular petals that splay out, like spiders legs!
